Chief Merchandising Officer

Matt Bolte

Matt Bolte leads Arc'teryx's global merchandising strategy, bringing together product vision, consumer understanding, and commercial thinking across the company's portfolio. With nearly 35 years spent shaping products and brands across apparel, footwear, and retail, he brings a deep appreciation for the craft of merchandising and the role product plays in connecting people to experiences.

Before joining Arc'teryx, Matt was a Partner at ThenWhat, an innovation and advisory firm focused on brand building and emerging apparel businesses. Earlier, he spent 17 years at Nike in merchandising and product leadership roles across Nike Sportswear, Nike Running, Global Brand Merchandising, and regional businesses in North America, Asia-Pacific and Latin America. He began his career in the swimwear and underwear segments of the industry in NYC, and has shared his industry knowledge as a university instructor and adjunct professor.

Matt is a believer in the relationship between people and products: what draws someone to a brand, what earns their trust, and what keeps them coming back. He is passionate about developing the next generation of leaders and creating teams that stay curious, challenge assumptions, and pursue better ideas.
